Privacy Policy
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]. This policy covers the Wedding Ideas Studio seating planner, run by [BUSINESS LEGAL NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@weddingideasstudio.com.
- Your guest list, rules, tables and wedding details are saved only in your own browser. We don't receive them.
- No accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking cookies, and no third-party fonts or scripts.
- If you buy the full planner, our payment processor handles your card. We get your name, email and order details for the receipt.
- "Delete my list" (at the bottom of the planner) wipes everything the planner saved in your browser.
What stays on your device
Everything you type or upload into the planner (partner names, wedding date, guest names, groups, households, kids and plus-ones, rules, table names and layout) is stored in your browser's local storage on your device, under the key "wis-seating-v0". If you upload a CSV file, it is read inside your browser and is not uploaded to us. Printing and "Save as PDF" also happen in your browser. We can't see, recover or back up this information.
Your list will include information about other people (your guests). Because it stays on your device, we don't process it, but please only add what you need for seating.
What we or our providers do receive
- Website hosting. Like any website, our host ([HOSTING PROVIDER: Vercel]) receives standard technical data when your browser loads the pages, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages and files requested, and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors, and is kept for [LOG RETENTION PERIOD]. Fonts and all other files are served from our own site, so no font service or other third party receives a request from your browser.
- Purchases (when payments are live). If you buy the full planner, checkout is handled by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR], which collects your card details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email address, billing country/postcode, the amount, date, order number and payment status, which we use to deliver access, send your receipt, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud and keep tax and accounting records for [RECORD RETENTION PERIOD]. Your guest list is not sent with your payment.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, your wedding date (optional), the page or link that referred you, and basic browser information (user agent). We use it only to send launch updates about Wedding Ideas Studio. It is stored in a private Vercel Blob store (not publicly accessible). We keep it until we stop sending launch updates or until you ask us to delete it, and for no longer than [CONFIRM: 24 months] unless you ask sooner. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email we send, or email hello@weddingideasstudio.com to have your details deleted.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address to answer you and keep a record of support and refund requests.
The planner itself sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising tools and does not track you across other sites. We don't sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. If we ever add analytics, accounts or cloud saving, we'll update this policy first.
Why we use it (legal bases)
Where laws such as the EU or UK GDPR apply: we use purchase information to perform our contract with you, keep records because the law requires it, and use hosting logs and fraud checks for our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
Deleting your information
- Your list: click "Delete my list" at the bottom of the planner and confirm, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. This also removes the unlock saved in that browser.
- Purchase and support records: email hello@weddingideasstudio.com. We'll delete what we're not legally required to keep.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the EU, the UK), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or object to or limit how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email hello@weddingideasstudio.com to make a request. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. Because your guest list never reaches us, requests about it are handled by the delete options above.
Sharing and international transfers
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the planner (hosting, payments, email) under their own privacy and security commitments, or when the law requires it. These providers may process data in the United States or other countries, with safeguards required by applicable law.
Children
The planner is meant for adults planning an event and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We don't knowingly collect children's personal information. Children's names you add to a guest list stay on your device.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and payments are handled by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. Anyone with access to your device and browser can see your saved list, so use "Delete my list" on shared computers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, show a notice in the planner.
